In this chat we’re getting to know more about our SEO Executive, Connor Fenwick; asking him about everything from his job role and SEO to where exactly he stands on the pineapple on pizza debate.

What’s your job role and what does it entail?

I am an SEO Executive, so my job is to help deliver the SEO strategy and improve our client’s visibility. My day-to-day tasks include keyword research, competitor analysis, content optimisation and technical health auditing.

How are you finding the role at CandidSky so far?

My role at Candidsky is going so well! This role is just what I wanted, especially after a year we’ve all experienced. I am very thankful for the team at Candidsky.

What are your favourite SEO tools?

I like using Google Adwords keyword planner tool as I can see updated search volume, forecasts for keywords and pick out what keywords are best for a specific page which I can then use to best optimise content. I also like using Screaming Frog for auditing, it gives me the ability to crawl a website and collect all of the information I need to analyse and report any problems on a client website.

What are your best tips for getting into SEO?

My main tips for someone who is interested in starting a job in SEO would be to research analytic tools and start learning how to use them. It would also be useful to learn how to build and configure your own website as well as knowing how to outreach and link build.

Who are your dream clients?

Odeon. Lego.

What film/TV show could you never get bored of?

I am a huge comic fan, so any superhero movie. One TV series I could watch over and over would have to be Vikings.

What food could you always eat?

Pizza!! So many styles.

Is pineapple on pizza ever acceptable?

What song always gets onto a playlist?

Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls.

Where are you planning to go on your next trip?

Next trip would be Iceland!

What have you missed during lockdown?

I’ve missed being in a big group of friends and being able to go overseas without restrictions

Which Friends character would you be?

Joey (I don’t like sharing food!)

Where’s your favourite place in Manchester?

The Northern Quarter – I could spend all day eating and being in a beer garden.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Everyday can be a second chance, tomorrow is just another day
