Hello, I’m Vimla. After a gruelling final year at The University of Manchester, I’ve joined the CandidSky team as a Marketing Assistant. Having just finished my degree in Politics and Modern History, I wanted to leave essay writing and history books behind me. It was time to start a career in a sector that I am passionate about – the ever-evolving world of digital.

I’ll be helping the team in many different ways, sometimes big and sometimes small. Co-ordinating with clients, and helping with organisation in order to ensure that CandidSky can continually improve in providing and maintaining their excellent service and expertise (whilst baking some cakes along the way)!

I love travelling and whilst at university I had the opportunity to visit the Philippines with the debate society for the World Debate Competition. I also went on the History Society trip to Berlin and was lucky enough to get university funding for my dissertation research in Mauritius. A trip to India beckons me at the end of the month, where I hope to have a bit of a “Steve Jobs experience” and find spiritual enlightenment in a secluded ashram– that or get to bathe some elephants in Kerala (the second option seems more realistic).

I’ve had a lot of past experience in traditional marketing, working on graphic design and traditional print, as well as B2B marketing, but my passion for digital was sparked during an internship in London from whence I wanted to know everything about digital and more. From coding to design, content to strategy I wanted to understand it all. I love how fast paced the digital world moves and continually learning about the newest trends is an aspect of the digital sector that I find inspiring.  This led me to an internship at TechHub Manchester, where I had the opportunity to meet some of Manchester’s up and coming stars in the city’s’ expanding digital market, as well as engage in some riveting conferences about the more technical side of the digital world.

Overall, I cannot wait to get involved with CandidSky and all of their exciting projects.
